TEXPAC Endorses Sarah Davis for the Texas House

AUSTIN – TEXPAC, the political advocacy arm of the Texas Medical Association (TMA), has announced its strong endorsement of Rep. Sarah Davis (R-West University Place) for Texas House of Representatives, District 134.

“We’re pleased to announce our support of Representative Davis. She is a solid and proven leader in the Texas House,” said TEXPAC Board Chair Jerry Hunsaker, MD. “As a member of the House Public Health and Appropriations Committees, she continuously fought to improve access to care while reducing the administrative burden on physicians and their patients.”

“We also know she will fight to protect the patient/physician relationship. As a breast cancer survivor she understands and values the unique and trusted relationship between patients and their doctors. We can count on Representative Davis to get rid of the bureaucratic waste that does little to improve patient care but instead drives up costs for patients, their physicians, and taxpayers. Sarah will work hard to protect the patient’s rights and ability to make their own treatment decisions without government and other third-party interference,” added Dr. Hunsaker.

“Sarah has proven that she is a conscientious leader who listens to the members of her community. She consistently supported legislation that protected patients. She is dedicated to improving the economic, education, and health care landscape for Texas. For these reasons we put our support behind Sarah Davis for HD 134,” Dr. Hunsaker said.

TEXPAC speaks on behalf of more than 47,000 Texas physicians and medical students, and nearly 5,000 alliance members. Organized in 1962, TEXPAC is one of the oldest political action committees in Texas. TEXPAC also is one of the largest bipartisan PACs in the state and ranks first in size among other state medical association PACs.
