Texas Association of Realtors’ TREPAC Endorses Sarah Davis

Posted: January, 26, 2016

HOUSTON - Three-term Texas House Representative, Sarah Davis, announced today that she has received the Texas Association of Realtors' TREPAC endorsement for the 2016 primary.

"I want to assure my constituents that continued property tax reform is at the top of our legislative agenda.  I am in full support of the tax measures that passed last session, allowing for the increase of the homestead exemption for school property taxes from $15,000.00 to $25,000.00, effectively returning $1.24 billion to Texas property owners," says Davis.

TREPAC has long provided a voice to protect the needs of real estate professionals and property owners. TREPAC is a nonprofit organization that uses voluntary investments to help elect local, state, and national public officials with a record of preserving private-property rights and keeping homeownership affordable in Texas.

“The passage of Propositions 1 and 7 in November were much-needed steps forward in keeping Texas a great place to live and work. Looking ahead at the 85th legislative session, many discussions are centered on continued infrastructure solutions, property tax relief and the property appraisal process,” said Rouda Smith. “Representative Davis is committed to finding fiscally conservative, sustainable solutions to address our growing state’s needs, which is why we’ve pledged our full support.”

Sarah Davis has served in the Texas House of Representative since 2011, representing West University Place, Bellaire, River Oaks, Braeswood Place, Meyerland, Southside Place, parts of Montrose, and the Texas Medical Center. She currently serves on the Appropriations, Calendars, Public Health, and General Investigating and Ethics Committees, and Chairs the Appropriations Sub-committee on Budget Transparency and Reform for the 84th Texas Legislative Session. She was recently named to the House Select Committee on Mental Health.
