State Rep. Sarah Davis Statement on SCOTUS Obamacare Decision
State Representative Sarah Davis made the following statement in response to the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold Obamacare:
“As a breast cancer survivor who spent 2009 undergoing aggressive treatment, I will fervently work to protect a patient’s right to work with their medical professionals to determine the best treatment options, without government intrusion. Healthcare is the most personal decision people make and Obamacare opens the door for these decisions to be made by government bureaucrats. Two years ago, I decided to run for office and fight against socialized medicine at any level I could. Today’s decision by the Supreme Court makes it clear that our fight at the state level must continue so we can save our patients, our economy, and our healthcare system from Obamacare’s damaging effects.”
Currently serving her first term in the Texas Legislature, Davis is on the Public Health Committee and Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence Committee. She is a member of the Republican Leadership Council with the Harris County Republican Party.
Davis received her undergraduate degree in Economics from Baylor in1998, before earning her Law Degree from the University of Houston in 2001. Sarah and her husband, Kent Adams, live in the City of West University Place.
